DESCRIPTION:Seattle Pride in the Park\, produced by Seattle Pride®\, will kick off Seattle’s 49th annual Pride Month celebration on Saturday\, June 3 at Volunteer Park on Capitol Hill. \nThis annual LGBTQIA+ celebration\, with the theme Galactic Love\, will feature a can’t-miss lineup of LGBTQIA+ performances\, a dance-focused stage curated by Supernova with an adjacent alcohol garden (for those 21 years of age and older)\, food trucks\, local nonprofit booths\, queer vendors\, and more. \n  \nThe free event also includes plenty of family friendly fare – including Drag Queen Storytime with Cookie Couture – and a youth space designed and hosted by youth in a collaborative internship between Seattle’s LGBTQ Center and Seattle Pride. \nAccessibility accommodations\, such as priority seating\, ASL interpreters\, ADA restrooms\, and designated assistants to support individuals in accessing food and beverages will be available. Evictions are acts of violence.\n\nHousing is a basic human right.\n\nAccording to the King County Bar Association in 2019 (pre-pandemic)\, there were 4\,471 evictions filed in King County\, averaging\, 373 evictions per month\, 86 per week\, or 12 per day.\n\nSince then there have been 3\,325 filings. With the moratorium in place filings dropped\, however once lifted they quickly jumped to 100+ fillings monthly. DESCRIPTION:TDOR Tacoma/ Seattle will once again be a hybrid event\, live streamed from both cities in order to offer safe and accessible events for the community.\n\nTacoma and Seattle will be held in separate locations.\n\nThis event is for the Seattle location which will be held at the same location as last year\, the University Universalist Unitarian Church in Seattle WA on Sunday November 20th\, and is hosted by its founder and DAPS Board Member Astro Pittman.\n\nTDOR is a day to mourn and celebrate those we have lost during the past year\, it is also a time to draw attention to the systematic harms that lead to these deaths. This year both events will be discussing various topics\, using a roundtable format with speakers.\n\nFollowing our speakers\, we will be holding a candlelight vigil to read the names of those who’ve lost their loves to anti-trans hate crimes and violence in the United States this year. Following this\, both sites will give space for debrief and conversation. Seattle’s debrief will go from ~8-9pm.\n\nPlease join us if you can\, in whatever capacity you are able\, and help spread the word! Please RSVP so we know how many we will have.
