Mutual Aid. Safety. Solidarity.

At Diversity Alliance of the Puget Sound (DAPS), community action means showing up — not just when it’s easy, but when it’s urgent. We deliver mutual aid, trauma-informed support, and abolitionist safety rooted in the belief that no one should be left behind.

We don’t wait for permission. We build what we need, together.

Our Core Pillars of Community Action

Mutual Aid & Direct Support

Community Holiday Meals
DAPS is working on bringing back our annual holiday meals. These gatherings create warm, welcoming spaces where everyone—especially those without family support—can share a meal, connect with community, and feel at home. Because everyone deserves a safe place to be together.

Emergency Housing & Shelter Referrals
Connecting trans and gender-diverse individuals to safe, affirming temporary housing options.

Houseless Food & Supply Distribution
Providing essential items like food, hygiene products, and clothing to those in need.

Mental Health Resources
Connecting individuals with affirming mental health professionals and support groups.

Past Initiatives

Name Aid Program
Assisted individuals in navigating the legal process of name changes to align with their gender identity.

Scholarship Programs
Provided financial assistance for education and skill-building opportunities.

Transgender Speakers Bureau
Facilitated speaking engagements to educate and advocate for trans and gender-diverse experiences.
