Vigil for Eucy & Call to Action

March 31 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm PDT

Vigil for Eucy
& Call to Action
Friday March 31st 7pm
Gilman Park
923 NW 54th
Seattle, WA
Earlier this month Eucy lost her life during an eviction. Evictions are acts of violence.
Housing is a basic human right.
According to the King County Bar Association in 2019 (pre-pandemic), there were 4,471 evictions filed in King County, averaging, 373 evictions per month, 86 per week, or 12 per day.
Since then there have been 3,325 filings. With the moratorium in place filings dropped, however once lifted they quickly jumped to 100+ fillings monthly. Without adequate resources in place renters will continue to face eviction at record rates, as the pandemic moves into it’s 4th year without an end in sight.
Friday is also Trans Day of Visibility, a day to celebrate trans and gender diverse voices, so let us celebrate Eucy and let her not be forgotten.
